Community Education

Community Education is run in conjunction with Amuri Area
School, who take on the role of helping tutors organise
classes, venues, equipment etc.

However Community Education can be held anywhere, cover any
topic and take place over any number of hours.

Tutor time is available in all sorts of activities which can
include a wide variety of activities such as Parenting Skills,
Computing, ESOL, First Aid, Woodwork, Patchwork etc

We also actively support the Amuri Autumn School in Hanmer
Springs, which offers a wide variety of classes.

Cost of Community Education courses is minimal, occasionally
there is a small fee for course materials or tutor time over
and above the course fee, but we try to keep costs to a
minimum.
Reasonable remuneration for tutors is paid by the Ministry of
Education

We look forward to hearing from you!!

Often there is an interest in a particular course but we have
trouble locating a tutor. We know there is a wealth of talent
in the community, in a wide variety of fields so if you can
offer a course please don’t hesitate to contact the school. No
course too big or small and every idea is worthwhile !

Courses can be over a weekend or 1 day or a series of weeks.
They do not have to be held at the school, they can be held in
the middle of a big field if that is appropriate so get your
imagination’s running wild and let us know your great ideas -
we are only to happy to hear from you
